Go ONE Better

This is the slogan for the local mobile company owned by Swaziland Post and Telecommunications (SPTC) whose contentious introduction has changed the Swazi mobile and internet space. MTN Swaziland, which had been the sole mobile operator in Swaziland seems to have woken up to some serious pricing competition when it comes to its service products (I shall leave the quality of service argument for another day).

Most importantly, the introduction of ONE has been so contentious that (besides the court cases)it has prompted the legislators to seriously consider speedily passing the long overdue Communications bill that shall see the setup of a Regulatory authority which shall hopefully result in better priced IT services in Swaziland. In the last couple of months, I have seen quite a few "mobile phones" courtesy of Swazi Telecoms 'Fixed Wireless' project. Like it or not, a lot of Swazis are getting these "mobile phones" because they are cheaper to use. In these tough Swazi economic times (where SRA has introduced sales tax, petrol prices frequently rise and there is a serious cash flow crises), we are all looking for a cheaper way to do things.

ICT is quite an important factor in driving (much needed) economic growth and this has been evident in the leading countries of the "so called" developing countries such as South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, India, Brazil and so forth hence it is refreshing to anticipate that as His Majesty King Mswati III is about to open the Parliament in 2012, we shall expect the Communications bill to be passed by the parliament of the Kingdom of Swaziland.

A lot of people have been asking me lately about the best internet connection device. I reserve my comment on that one simple because I would be biased towards my ISP. Needless to say that this is very encouraging because this can only mean Swazis are seeing the value in constant connection to the internet.

At Onswaziline, we are also excited about the opportunities that lie ahead as people connect to the internet in Swaziland. We have redesigned this website and we hope that it is now easier to use. We have reorganized most of the pages to make the layout easier on the eye. The bottom section has also been redesigned to make the links more visible and less clustered. We have included some cool features like the Request a Quote link to your right which is a direct link to the contact us page. In addition, there are links to Onswaziline's pages on facebook, twitter and linkedin.

We have not forgotten the most important stakeholder in our business; THE CLIENT. We are offering some exciting products for our customers:

We hope that our redesigned website makes it clear WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE DO and HOW WE CAN HELP YOU. So let us go ONE better and make 2012 a great year.
